The International Advocacy Congress 2018 was recently held, which was attended by Rubén Remigio Ferro, president of the Supreme People's Court (TSP), and the participation of Cuban judges, Rufina Hernández Rodríguez and María Caridad Bertot Yero.
Ariel Mantecón Ramos, president of the Board of Directors of the National Organization of Collective Law Firms, highlighted how the prohibitions of the unjust blockade imposed on Cuba by the United States prevent the attendance of American jurists to the event.
Homero Acosta Álvarez, Secretary of the Council of State of Cuba and Vice President of the Cuban Society of Constitutional Law, explained in his lecture about aspects related to the reform of the Magna Carta and the current process of popular consultation, which he values as "active participation committed and responsible "of the whole society.
An arduous work was deployed in commissions. In the case of criminal and criminological conflicts, a panel was chaired by the criminal judges of the TSP, Rufina Hernández Rodríguez and María Caridad Bertot Yero and the lawyer Pedro Antonio Pérez Pérez.
Throughout the week, the TSP exhibited a stand, where copies of the institutional publications were promoted and delivered, while fruitful exchanges took place with the delegates to the event, who were interested in the operation of the Court System and its Communication Institutional Policy.
The event held at the Convention Center, in Havana, where the TSP actively participated, left a balance of knowledge about the resolution of conflicts and legal litigation in all matters, the main axis of Abogacía 2018.
